Trouble for US players Cashing out on Major Sites
I have been a busy boy lately, but have heard rumors on the wind. Strange going ons with really reliable sites not releasing funds to American players. It wasn\’t until today that I actually spoke to someone about it and found out abit more info.
Seems the US government has made a few moves against online poker, big suprise there. Caught up in all the pro twitter at WSOP, I missed all this, although I am sure it will be a front page topic soon enough and to many players is. $30+ million worth of news, of players money.
I will let this link given to me by a friend explain more: http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/ny-uspoker0610,0,5993995.story
There are some good threads as well at www.drcheckraise.com in the Anouncements. Brace yourselves, this is going to get ugly and slow!
On a brighter note, one of the players I was routing for in WSOP made her money back before leaving Sin City. Chef did well in some smaller venues and broke even.
Bo Fric is deep in day 2 with a healthy chip stack in a shootout bracelet event. He is already in the money, making this WSOP 2009 cash number 2! (3 if you include the 10k seat, I would)
Now how much will the IRS want………
Ever see how much cash was lost to taxes from the players at the 2008 main Event final? A topic for next time maybe……..
